In 1958, Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke at Bennett College, after being banned from speaking elsewhere in Greensboro. Delivered to a packed chapel, his speech was made possible by President Player, who believed that at Bennett, "freedom rings." Inspired by his words, the Bennett students—known as the "Bennett Belles"—went on to lead their own powerful protests for justice.

Even though I saw them in person, the white still appears once you wear them. I thought the blue would remain a solid blue when worn. The stretch that stretches out to white is what I did not want. Disappointed. Also, I am 5’1 and had to literally put a cuff in them because they are so long on me. These will be worn for bed.
