WSSU Rams

Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) was founded in 1892 as the Slater Industrial Academy by Dr. Simon Green Atkins. It became the first African American institution in the United States to grant degrees in elementary education. Today, WSSU is known for its strong nursing, business, and health sciences programs.
