Spelman Jaguars

The story of Spelman College begins in 1881, when two visionary women, Sophia B. Packard and Harriet E. Giles, founded the institution. Driven by a dream to provide higher education opportunities for newly freed African American women, they made it a reality. In doing so, they established the oldest historically Black college for women in America.
