Position Overview:

We are seeking passionate and driven HBCU undergrad or graduate students to join us in planning and executing a monumental launch event this summer. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fulfilling a large wholesale order and orchestrating a comprehensive marketing campaign around it.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute a strategic marketing plan tailored to the launch event.
  • Assist in coordinating logistics for the event, including venue selection, vendor management, and on-site coordination.
  • Coordinate packing and shipping of the product order to various Sam's Club locations, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
  • Curate a guest list for the launch event, managing invitations and RSVPs effectively.
  • Utilize social media platforms to promote the event and drive engagement with our target audience.
  • Provide administrative support as needed to ensure the success of the launch event.

Note: This internship will primarily involve virtual work, with periodic in-person commitments in the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia) area. Candidates should be able to attend in-person meetings and events as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an HBCU undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to learn on the go
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for marketing and event planning.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing techniques is a plus.

Compensation and Schedule:
This internship opportunity with HBCU Leggings is an unpaid position; however, we do offer a $500 stipend to help offset expenses related to your participation. Additionally, we want to provide clarity regarding the schedule and time commitment involved:

  • Stipend Offer: Interns will receive a $500 stipend for their participation in the internship program. This stipend is intended to assist with any expenses related to your involvement, such as transportation or materials.
  • Service Dates: The internship program is scheduled to run from May 28th to July 3rd, encompassing approximately six weeks of engagement. During this period, interns will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in various aspects of marketing, event planning, and wholesale order fulfillment.
  • Part-Time Commitment: Interns are expected to commit to a part-time schedule, dedicating approximately 15-20 hours per week to their internship responsibilities. This flexible arrangement allows interns to balance their academic commitments with their professional development goals effectively.
